LOVE IS NEVER GONE
In the early weeks of 2025, I read a piece by Timothy Snyder entitled, “The Logic of Destruction and How to Resist It”, in which he says, "Make sure you are talking to people and doing something…. Do not be alone and do not be dismayed. Find someone who is doing something you admire and join them.” His words and sentiment immediately made me feel less alone and less despairing, and inspired this song. Songcrafting has always been my primary way of processing and making sense of internal and external turmoil. And making art takes on special significance in times such as these. Creative expression is in direct opposition to the powers that desire to control, minimize, depersonalize, dehumanize, and numb the essence of what makes us most human. Love is never gone!
